Vantage is one of the cheaper ways to trade forex and gold on MetaTrader. The Raw ECN account starts at $50 and gets a full lot of EUR/USD down to roughly seven dollars all-in. But “regulated by ASIC and the FCA” only describes part of the company. Most traders outside Australia and the UK end up with an offshore entity. This review covers which one you will get, what it really costs and where Vantage falls short.
What we like
- Raw ECN costs about $7 per lot on EUR/USD, all-in
- $50 minimum on both main accounts
- MT4, MT5 and TradingView supported
- No deposit or inactivity fees
- Built-in copy trading
What to watch
- Most global clients are with an offshore entity
- Regulators in Italy and the Netherlands acted against the offshore arm
- Recurring complaints about slow withdrawals
- CFDs only — no real shares
- Thin research and education

The first question: which Vantage are you joining?
Every broker review starts with regulation, and with Vantage this matters more than usual. Vantage is a group of companies, and each one is licensed somewhere different. The licence that protects you depends on where you live and which entity opens your account.
| Entity | Regulator | Retail leverage |
|---|---|---|
| Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd | ASIC, Australia (AFSL 428901) | 1:30 |
| Vantage Global Prime LLP | FCA, United Kingdom | 1:30 |
| Vantage Markets (Pty) Ltd | FSCA, South Africa (FSP 51268) | Up to 1:1000 |
| Vantage International Group Ltd | CIMA, Cayman Islands (SIBL 1383491) | Up to 1:1000 |
| Vantage Trading Ltd | FSC, Mauritius | Up to 1:1000 |
| Vantage Global Ltd | VFSC, Vanuatu (700271) | Up to 1:2000 on forex and metals |
Australian clients get ASIC rules: leverage capped at 1:30, negative balance protection and strict client-money handling. UK clients get the FCA plus FSCS compensation of up to £85,000 if the firm fails. Those are among the strongest protections in retail forex.
Clients in South Asia, the Middle East, Africa or most of Latin America are usually onboarded through one of the other four entities. Those licences are real, but they are lighter. Cayman, Mauritius and Vanuatu impose far fewer conduct rules and offer no compensation scheme. That is why the same company can offer 1:30 to one client and 1:2000 to another.
This is not a reason to avoid Vantage. Most global brokers work this way. It is a reason to read the client agreement before funding. The company name at the top of that document is the company you are trusting with your money. You can confirm any licence number in our broker licence checker.
Client money protections
Across the group, Vantage says client funds are held in segregated accounts and that retail clients have negative balance protection. It also advertises an excess-of-loss insurance policy that sits on top of segregation. Treat that insurance as a bonus rather than a reason to deposit. The regulator behind your entity matters far more than any policy wording.
The regulatory history worth knowing
We found no action against Vantage by ASIC or the FCA. Its offshore arm, though, has had several run-ins with European regulators, and a fair review should mention them.
Vantage’s response both times was the same: it does not solicit clients where it is not licensed, and the cases were a misunderstanding its lawyers were resolving. You can judge that for yourself. The practical lesson is simple. If you live in the EU, Vantage’s offshore entity is not licensed to serve you, and you should not open an account with it through a workaround.
Vantage, like most large brokers, works with independent partners who earn from client referrals. Some reviewers say partners misrepresented the broker to them. Never hand your login to an “account manager” and never send money anywhere except your own Vantage client portal. Vantage itself will not manage your account for you.
What trading actually costs
This is where Vantage earns its place on our list. There are three accounts, and the choice between the first two matters more than anything else in this review.
| Standard STP | Raw ECN | Pro ECN | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum deposit | $50 | $50 | Higher (around $10,000) |
| Spreads from | ~1.0 pip | 0.0 pips | 0.0 pips |
| Commission per lot | None | $3 per side | $1.50 per side |
| Best for | Very small, occasional trades | Almost everyone else | High-volume traders |
Advertised “from” spreads tell you very little, so here are measured figures. ForexBrokers.com recorded an average EUR/USD spread of 1.4 pips on the Standard account and 0.127 pips on Raw ECN. FXEmpire’s December 2025 test found 1.2 pips on Standard during the London and New York opens. Here is what that means for one standard lot of EUR/USD, where one pip is worth $10:
1.4 pips × $10, no commission
0.127 pips × $10 = $1.27 + $6.00 commission
On small trades the difference looks trivial. Over a year it isn’t. Someone trading ten lots a month saves roughly $800 a year on Raw ECN, on the same trades with the same results. The minimum deposit is the same $50, so the Standard account only makes sense if commission charges confuse you. They shouldn’t. The spread lesson in our Academy explains both pricing models side by side.
Gold costs
Most of our community trades XAU/USD, so it deserves its own note. Gold’s spread on Vantage is competitive with other large brokers, and Raw ECN keeps it tight outside news. But gold is quoted differently from currency pairs. One standard lot is 100 ounces, so a $1 move is $100 per lot. A spread that looks like “20” on your screen can mean twenty cents, which is $20 per lot. Check how your MetaTrader shows gold before your first trade. Our gold contract specs lesson walks through it.
Overnight swaps
Swing traders should look at swaps as closely as spreads. When FXEmpire checked, holding one lot of EUR/USD long overnight cost about $8. One lot of gold long cost about $64 a night. Swaps change with interest rates, so treat those as examples, not quotes. The point stands: a gold buy held for two weeks can cost more in swap than it did in spread. Swap-free accounts exist for traders who need them for religious reasons. They are not a way to dodge overnight costs, and Vantage can apply holding fees on long-held positions.
Non-trading fees
These are clean. There are no deposit fees from Vantage’s side and no inactivity fee. Card and e-wallet withdrawals are free. Bank wire withdrawals can carry a fee of around $20, and BrokerChooser reports one free international wire per month. Your own bank or e-wallet may still charge you.
Leverage: available is not the same as sensible
On an offshore entity Vantage will let you open a full lot of EUR/USD with very little margin. That is not an advantage. The trade risks exactly as much as it would at 1:30. Only the deposit needed to open it changes.
The traders we see blow accounts at 1:1000 rarely got the analysis wrong. They sized too big because nothing stopped them. Whatever leverage your account allows, size every trade from your stop loss and a fixed percentage of your balance. Our lot size calculator does it in seconds, and the leverage and margin risk lesson shows why it matters.
Platforms: MetaTrader plus TradingView
Vantage keeps platforms simple and familiar.
- MT4 and MT5 — the standard choices, with full support for expert advisors, custom indicators and VPS hosting. Vantage offers free VPS hosting to clients who meet its activity criteria.
- TradingView — you can connect a Vantage account and trade from TradingView charts. For chart-heavy traders this is the most comfortable setup.
- Vantage app and web platform — fine for monitoring and copy trading. The web platform lacks some tools, such as trailing stops and a full news feed.
There is no cTrader. Vantage only sells CFDs, so you cannot buy real shares or ETFs.
Because Vantage runs on MT4 and MT5, it works with Telegram Trade Linker. Our signals arrive with one entry, one stop loss and one take profit, and TTL copies them into your account automatically. Raw ECN pricing also suits signal trading, where many small trades make spread costs add up quickly. Before copying anything live, check how your account names gold, since some accounts add a suffix to symbols.
Copy trading on Vantage
Vantage has built copy trading into its own app and client portal. ForexBrokers.com counted more than 800,000 copiers and over 100,000 signal providers. It is easy to start, and that is both its strength and its risk.
The weakness is the statistics. Reviewers found the provider rankings make it hard to see losing strategies, and you cannot easily sort by worst performance. A leaderboard that shows mostly winners will always look better than reality.
If you copy anyone, judge them on maximum drawdown and how long they have traded. A high return over three months tells you very little. Start with an amount you can afford to lose entirely.
Deposits and withdrawals
Funding methods include cards, bank wire, local bank transfers in many countries and the main e-wallets. Exact options depend on your country. Card and e-wallet withdrawals are usually processed within a day. Bank wires take three to seven business days to arrive.
Trustpilot is useful here. Vantage holds a 4.4 out of 5 score from more than 15,000 reviews, which is strong for a broker. But recent one-star reviews follow a clear pattern: withdrawals left pending for days, often answered with a template reply that blames maintenance. Many say the money eventually arrived after they escalated.
We don’t read that as a sign of a broker refusing to pay. We read it as a processing team that gets overloaded. Our advice is practical. Withdraw to the same method you deposited with. Complete identity verification before you need your money, not after. Don’t plan rent or bills around a withdrawal clearing in 24 hours.
Research and education
This is Vantage’s weakest area. There is daily market commentary, webinars, an economic calendar and a short Vantage Academy with courses on forex, stocks, indices and gold. Trading Central’s premium tools are offered, but some require a $1,000 deposit and regular trading. It is all beginner-level and fairly thin.
That is fine, because nobody should choose a broker for its education. For structured learning, our Trading Academy is free. Start with how to choose a forex broker if you are still comparing.
Who Vantage suits — and who it doesn’t
A good fit if you…
- trade forex or gold on MT4, MT5 or TradingView and care about costs
- will use the Raw ECN account, where Vantage is genuinely cheap
- live in Australia or the UK and can join the ASIC or FCA entity
- copy signals into MetaTrader and make many small trades
- want a small $50 start to test the platform and withdrawals
Look elsewhere if you…
- live in the EU — the offshore entity is not licensed to serve you
- need a top-tier regulator but would be onboarded offshore
- want real shares, ETFs or options rather than CFDs
- need cTrader or a broad research package
- would be tempted by 1:1000 leverage
How we scored Vantage
4.6
4.5
4.1
4.0
4.0
3.5
Overall: 4.3 / 5. Raw ECN is among the cheapest MetaTrader pricing available, and the platform choice covers almost every style. The score is held back by the offshore structure most global clients end up in, the European regulatory actions and the recurring withdrawal complaints.
The bottom line
Vantage does the important things well. Raw ECN pricing is cheap, MetaTrader and TradingView support is solid, and $50 is enough to start. For a trader who sizes positions properly and trades forex or gold, few brokers offer a better cost-to-quality ratio.
The caveats are about structure, not trading. Know which entity holds your account. Don’t treat high leverage as an upgrade. Expect withdrawals to occasionally need a follow-up email. If you can live with those three things, Vantage deserves its place on our best broker list.
Frequently asked questions
Is Vantage Markets safe?
Vantage holds licences from ASIC and the FCA, two of the strictest regulators in forex, plus FSCA, CIMA, FSC Mauritius and VFSC. How safe your account is depends on which entity opens it. UK and Australian clients get strong protections. Most other clients are with an offshore entity that has lighter rules and no compensation scheme.
What is the minimum deposit at Vantage?
$50 for both the Standard STP and Raw ECN accounts. The Pro ECN account, with lower commission, is aimed at much larger balances. Exact minimums can vary by country and entity.
Which Vantage account is best?
For most traders, Raw ECN. It has the same $50 minimum as Standard, and the all-in cost on EUR/USD is roughly half. Standard only suits someone who trades very rarely and prefers no commission line.
Can I use Vantage with copy trading or signals?
Yes. Vantage has built-in copy trading in its app, and because it supports MT4 and MT5 it also works with Telegram Trade Linker for copying Telegram signals automatically.
Is Vantage available in Europe?
EU residents should not use Vantage’s offshore entities. Regulators in Italy, the Netherlands and Spain have acted against the offshore brand for serving their residents without a licence. UK residents can use the FCA-regulated entity.
How long do Vantage withdrawals take?
Card and e-wallet withdrawals are usually processed within a day. Bank wires can take three to seven business days. Some users report longer delays at busy times, so complete verification early and withdraw to your deposit method.
CFDs and leveraged forex carry a high risk of losing money quickly, and most retail accounts lose money. This review is for information only and is not financial advice.
